Sharjah has always been a pioneer in culture and education.

The first properly organized school was established in Sharjah in the 1950's. The old school building still exists today and is located in the Heritage area next to Souk Al Arsah.

Excellent multinational nursery, primary, secondary and undergraduate education exists in Sharjah. Since 1997, state-of-the-art Universities have opened. The federal education ministry takes its responsibilities towards private schooling very seriously and schools are inspected on a regular basis to help maintain high quality of education.
