THE SCENIC EAST
East Coast,
Dibba,
Khorfakkan, Fujairah and
Kalba conjure up a picture of ancient seaport
towns, which are now modern resort cities on the coast of
the Arabian Sea.
The circular drive to the East Coast passes through
breathtaking scenery that immediately arrests the
attention as we take the winding rout through the green
oasis of
Al Dhaid to the
craggy rocky range of the Al Hajjar Mountains before
descending to the coast. The crystal seas are perfect for
both swimming and diving. Enroute we pass by Massafi –
where fresh water springs are located. The town of Dibba
is interestingly divided into three parts belonging to
Sharjah, Fujairah and Oman. We’ll also see the oldest
mosque at Badiyah.
At Sharm we’ll break for lunch and then proceed towards
southward towards Fujairah, where you will find some of
the most beautiful and unspoiled beaches of the Indian
Ocean. Our visit will take us to the Fujairah fort and to
the Citadel of Bitnah. At Masafi we will get a glimpse of
the unhurried pace of rural life at a roadside market
popularly known as the “Friday Market”.

HERITAGE TOUR
Sharjah
The Emirate of Sharjah, neighboring Dubai, was voted the
cultural Capital of The Arab World in 1998 – a tribute of
the city’s rich Islamic heritage.
We start our tour with a photo stop at the Quran
roundabout where we will discover traditional Arabic
architecture.
After a short drive, we pass in front of the Sharjah
ruler’s palace and the
Souq Al
Majarrah with the Golden Dome. Our next stop is the
Sharjah museum housed in
Al Hisn
Fort built around 200 years ago. It was the
traditional residence of the ruling family. A tour of the
museum and a short film will take us back in time and
provide us with a rich insight into the history of the
Emirates. A short walk will then take us to the Heritage
Village. In golden times, this old souq was the
Central Souq. Today, you can
walk in this beautiful restored souq with its narrow
alleys and buy old wooden dhows, dates and tabacco leaves.
Opposite the souq is the old
Al
Naboodah House, the biggest construction in the
village.
Our tour then takes us to the vegetable and fruit market,
the fish market, the King Faisal mosque with its Islamic
center and the lagoon with its beautiful
parks.
Our excursion will not be complete without a visit to the
famous Blue Souq with 600 shops. Here you can shop for
gold, carpets, antiques, perfumes and electronic items.
Day: Saturday
Price: 105 DHS (from Dubai with Catamaran 155 DHS)

THE EMIRATES GRAND CANYON
Mountain Safari
Starting from the
East Coast
of the United Arab Emirates, we enjoy the thrilling
experience of the Mountain Safari that takes us through
the Hajjar mountain range all the way to the West Coast on
the Emirates.
Our ascent begins near
Dibba
– an ancient fishing port where we enter the territory of
Oman (no immigration formalities required). Our 4 WD picks
up its trial through spectacular canyons, steep rugged,
winding tracks, deep gorges and terraced mountain sides.
As we ascend up to a height of 1,000 meters, we pass by
old stone houses which are inhabited to this day and small
villages where crops like tobacco are cultivated. At the
summit, we stop for a picnic lunch amidst the scenic
beauty of the mountains and wadis (dry river beds).
On our return journey, we descend into Ras Al Khaimah –
the oldest sea port in the region and drive via the
Emirate Umm Al Quwain and Ajman to Sharjah and Dubai.
