  • Sharjah English School is a fee paying independent school which provides an education for the children of expatriates working in the UAE.

  • There are some three hundred pupils in the school with ages ranging from three to eleven.

  • Competence in English is an essential requirement and all children are assessed prior to entry.

  • The maximum class size is 24, the average 19.

  • The  aim of the school is to offer the highest possible standard of education following the British National Curriculum.

  • There are 20 teachers with British/European qualifications and experience.

  • There is a special education needs teacher.

  • Specialist subjects offered include French, Arabic, music and computer studies.

  • Children are prepared for entry to secondary schools and, where appropriate, for UK Common Entrance and Scholarship Examinations at 11+.

  • Facilities include a science laboratory, computer room, art room, a new library block with CD ROM facilities and a large hall/gymnasium complete with stage and stage lighting.

  • A large number of extra curricular activities with some 20 clubs are on offer.

  • The neighboring club's swimming pool is available for school use and outdoor play areas are marked for basketball, netball and five-a-side football.

  • The school is housed in purpose-built fully air-conditioned accommodation.

  • The location of school ensures easy access from Dubai, central Sharjah and Ajman.
